The Bukovets School
We created the Cobblestone Freeway Foundation, to support and inspire communities in Ukraine and around the world, that keep intangible cultural heritage alive.
Our aim is to improve the circumstances which allow traditional culture to flourish and thrive in our ever changing modern world.
The K-12 school in Bukovets, Ivano-Frankivsk Region, Ukraine is in need of such support.
The teachers and staff are extremely motivated to teach students, not only the necessary curriculum for a good
education, but also the traditional "Hutsul" way of life.
Unfortunately, these teachers lack the proper support
& resources, and the school building itself is crumbling.
The government budget for the
school is not adequate to support the infrastructure, salaries of teachers and support staff, and day-to-day
operation of the school.
Cobblestone Freeway Foundation is raising money to properly equip these teachers and in doing so these children, for an education that will shape their future.

Thanks to the hard work by Kristina Frykas and for the beautiful dancing by Verba Ukrainian Dance Company, Sopilka Ukrainian Dance School, Troyanda Ukrainian Dance Ensemble, and Selo Ukrainian Dancers. Big thanks to everyone who came out and so generously supported the Bukovets School..
Volunteer Work Trip 2019
After requests from several supporters, we organised a volunteer work trip in the Fall of 2019, in order to give supporters the chance to come to Ukraine and actively participate in the aid of this school. Volunteers came over to Ukraine and travelled up into the Carpathian Mountains to spend a week in the small village of Bukovets, restoring and renovating the school.

After a successful volunteer Work Trip last year, and requests from several supporters, we have organised yet more volunteer work trips, in order to give supporters the chance to come to Ukraine and actively participate in the aid of this school.
Donation Appeal
We are appealing for donations of any old, disused smartphones, tablets or even laptops lying around in your homes, to give schoolchildren in Bukovets Village a chance of a decent education during these trying times.
